Editorial: Paper Shortage

By: Margaret

MMS is currently in a paper shortage. This is a problem because the students have to write every question down, and every answer. It takes a lot of time to do that and we’ve only finished half the paper by the end of class. Then we have the rest for homework and we don’t have the questions to do the work on. If everyone donates 1 packet of paper, than the shortage will be gone. Then our arms won’t hurt from writing and we’ll be get things done in less time.

NFL Standings (Oct 5, 2009)

Welcome MMS today is Monday October 5, 2009, I’m going to tell about the NFL standings, and teams.

New England Patriots are 3-1

Buffalo Bills are 1-3

New York Jets are 3-1

Denver Broncos are 4-0

Indianapolis Colts are 4-0

Baltimore Ravens are 3-1

Cincinnati Bengals are 3-1

San Diego Chargers are 2-2

Jacksonville Jaguars are 2-2

Pittsburg Steelers are 2-2

Oakland Raiders are 1-3

Houston Texans are 2-2

Cleveland Browns are 0-4

Miami Dolphins are 1-3

Kansas City Chiefs are 0-4

Tennessee Titans are 0-4

This year I think that the New York Jets will be the best team in the NFL. The Colts are on a roll of 4-0 and the Broncos are also 4-0.

Making Good Grades

By: Margaret

If you are having trouble making good grades and your parents are getting mad at you, then this will help you get your grades up.

The first thing you need to do is to listen during class. You can ask questions to the teacher, take notes, or anything else that will help you learn and understand everything you need to know.

Also write down your homework in your agenda. Check it when you get home everyday and do the homework.

You also need to study. Study everything that might be on a test or quiz. Make flashcards and study them. Then when the test comes, you’ll be ready!

So You Want to Play College Football

MMS students, do you dream of being a sports star? I am going to talk about what it takes to play college football and many other sports. The only way you can play college football is if you finish school. My question is will you finish school to go to college and make the grades you need to play a sport like football? So MMS students please finish school.

Editorial: Bell Schedule

By: Margaret

This year at Martin Middle School, we have many different bell schedules. I think we only need one. Here are some of the schedules: Regular 7:30-2:25a Wednesday 7:30-1:25 Wednesday Early Release: 7:30-11:55

These bell schedules are very confusing and get even the teachers confused. I don’t know what the point of all these different schedules is, but not many people enjoy them. I was in dance class one morning and we were in class performing to the other students when the bell rang. Everyone was confused and almost everyone was late (we needed to change out of our dance pants).

Also switching classes in four minutes instead of five is a pain. I need to get my NJHS form from Mrs. Hynus but the warning bell always rings before I can. These new changes are hard for everyone and should be taken away.

Changing Electives

I know that some of you want to know how to change your elective classes. I’m going to let you know who to talk to.

If you are in 6th grade then you need to see Mrs. Anderson.

If you are in 7th grade then you need to talk to Mrs. Moore.

And if you are in the 8th grade then Mrs. Griffin is the person you need to make arrangements with.

When you see them you will go through some paper work and sign some things, but you should keep in mind that it’s probably too late to change this semester, so make sure that you choose carefully in next time.
